Piratex MCP server: Reels and TikTok trends and video breakdowns in Claude and ChatGPT

Updated November 5, 2026

Piratex is an MCP server that gives your AI assistant data about short-form video: what is taking off in your niche on Instagram Reels and TikTok right now, how many times a video beat its creator's usual views, and what it is made of (hook, timestamped transcript, key frames, comments). It works in Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and other MCP clients at https://piratex.ai/api/mcp, with OAuth sign-in and no API key to copy. Piratex collects and measures the data; your own AI does the reasoning and writes the scripts.

Before you start: what to expect

What Piratex is

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol that lets an AI assistant call external tools and get data back. Anthropic introduced it in November 2024, and today it is supported by Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and other clients.

Piratex is a trend radar for short-form video with an MCP server on top. It measures public videos from creators across niches on Instagram and TikTok on a schedule, flags the ones that are getting unusually many views for their creator, and can break down any video from a link. Your assistant calls these tools on its own when you ask in plain words: "what's taking off in the home baking niche?" or "break down this video".

The split of roles is simple: Piratex supplies the data (trends, transcripts, frames, comments, metrics), and your AI writes the analysis, conclusions and scripts on your own subscription. Piratex has no text model of its own for new users, so the depth of the answers depends on the model you work with.

Who it is for

Questions you can ask

Your assistant picks the right tool for each question. Paste these as they are:

Tools

ToolWhat it does
trending_nowVideos in a niche that are getting unusually many views compared with their creator's usual numbers
niche_searchFind a niche or sub-niche in the catalog
set_my_niches, my_profileSave your niches and see the saved ones
get_profileA creator by link or handle: their last 12 videos and x to median for each
xray_video"X-ray" of any video by link: metrics, transcript, hook, scenes, frames, comments, code word, brief
account, credit_historyCredit balance and history

The main tool. You name a niche in words, the server finds it in the catalog of niches and sub-niches and returns videos that are getting unusually many views compared with their creators' usual numbers. If the niche is already in the database, the answer comes right away. If it isn't, Piratex builds it in 5–10 minutes: it finds up to 50 creators, and the first finds show up within a couple of minutes. Trends cover Instagram and TikTok.

Niches: niche_search, set_my_niches, my_profile

niche_search looks a niche up in the catalog, set_my_niches saves yours, my_profile shows what is saved. Once saved, you can simply ask "what's new in my niche?".

A link or handle of an Instagram or TikTok creator returns their last 12 videos and x to median for each. In one request you see which of their videos took off and which performed as usual. After a breakdown, an Instagram creator can be put on daily watch for up to 30 days, within your plan's limits.

Video X-ray: xray_video

A breakdown of any video by link: Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, long YouTube videos, Instagram and TikTok posts and carousels. It returns metrics, a timestamped transcript, the hook (first 3 seconds), scenes, 8 key frames, the top 50 comments and a guess at the funnel's code word. The adapt part builds a "make one like this for me" brief: the video's mechanics carried over to your topic.

Balance: account and credit_history

Your credit balance and history. Handy to ask "how many credits do I have left?" before a long series of breakdowns.

What data you get

Numbers come from scheduled measurements, not live counters.

How to connect

Claude: claude.ai, desktop and mobile apps

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Paste https://piratex.ai/api/mcp and add it.
  3. Sign in to Piratex and press Allow.
  4. Ask: "What's taking off in my niche right now?"

The connector then shows up everywhere: on claude.ai, in the desktop app and on your phone.

ChatGPT

Set it up on chatgpt.com from a computer. On ChatGPT's free plan the option may be missing, and menu names can differ between versions.

  1. Add your own MCP server in ChatGPT. If you don't see the option, go to Settings → Apps → Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode, then create a new one.
  2. Name it Piratex, paste https://piratex.ai/api/mcp, choose OAuth for authentication and create it.
  3. Sign in to Piratex and press Allow.
  4. Ask: "What's taking off in my niche right now?"

Claude Code

Run in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http piratex https://piratex.ai/api/mcp

Then sign in to Piratex in your browser and press Allow. If the sign-in window doesn't open by itself, type /mcp in Claude Code and pick piratex.

Cursor and VS Code

Your Piratex dashboard has quick-install buttons for Cursor and VS Code: click one and the client adds the server itself. The quick-install link contains your key, so don't forward or publish it.

Codex

Add the server to ~/.codex/config.toml with a key from your dashboard. The Codex setup is still being verified.

Other MCP clients

Any client that can connect to remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP can use the same address. If your client doesn't support OAuth, use an API key.

Server address, sign-in and keys

Connecting Claude Code with a key:

claude mcp add --transport http piratex https://piratex.ai/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer px_YOUR_KEY"

Pricing

Piratex runs on credits. A plan gives you a monthly credit allowance that you can spend on any mix of actions. Payment is in rubles, by Russian bank cards only.

FAQ

What is the Piratex MCP server?

An MCP server that gives Claude, ChatGPT and other AI clients data about short-form video: niche trends on Reels and TikTok, x to the creator's median, and the transcript, frames and comments of any video by link. The address is https://piratex.ai/api/mcp.

Can I use Piratex in English?

Yes. The website is in Russian, but the MCP tools work in any language you use with your AI. Ask your assistant in English and it will call the tools and answer in English.

Can I pay from outside Russia?

Paid plans are billed in rubles and accept Russian bank cards only. The free tier gives a verified account 600 credits a month, and a new verified account gets 1 000 bonus credits for 30 days.

Do I need an API key?

No. The main sign-in is OAuth: you sign in on piratex.ai and press Allow. A key from your dashboard is only needed for clients without OAuth and for the REST API at /api/v1.

Does it cover YouTube Shorts?

The trend radar and creator profiles cover Instagram and TikTok. YouTube Shorts and long YouTube videos can be broken down by link with xray_video.

Where does the data come from?

From public videos and profiles, measured on a schedule. Piratex never logs into other people's accounts and never asks for social media passwords.

Start on the free tier: sign up at piratex.ai, add https://piratex.ai/api/mcp to your AI and ask: "What's taking off in my niche right now?" For a step-by-step workflow, read how to find viral Reels and TikToks with Claude or ChatGPT.
