> Piratex MCP server gives Claude and ChatGPT your niche's trending Reels and TikToks, x to the creator's median, and any video's transcript, frames, comments.

URL: https://piratex.ai/en/mcp-server

Piratex is an MCP server that gives your AI assistant data about short-form video: what is taking off in your niche on Instagram Reels and TikTok right now, how many times a video beat its creator's usual views, and what it is made of (hook, timestamped transcript, key frames, comments). It works in Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and other MCP clients at `https://piratex.ai/api/mcp`, with OAuth sign-in and no API key to copy. Piratex collects and measures the data; your own AI does the reasoning and writes the scripts.

## Before you start: what to expect
- **The website is in Russian.** Sign-up, the dashboard and billing pages are in Russian. The MCP tools work in whatever language you use with your AI: ask in English, and your assistant handles the rest.
- **A free tier is available.** A verified account gets 600 credits a month at no cost.
- **Paid plans are billed in rubles, by Russian bank cards only.** If you don't have one, the free tier is what you can use today.

## What Piratex is
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol that lets an AI assistant call external tools and get data back. Anthropic introduced it in November 2024, and today it is supported by Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and other clients.

Piratex is a trend radar for short-form video with an MCP server on top. It measures public videos from creators across niches on Instagram and TikTok on a schedule, flags the ones that are getting unusually many views for their creator, and can break down any video from a link. Your assistant calls these tools on its own when you ask in plain words: "what's taking off in the home baking niche?" or "break down this video".

The split of roles is simple: Piratex supplies the data (trends, transcripts, frames, comments, metrics), and your AI writes the analysis, conclusions and scripts on your own subscription. Piratex has no text model of its own for new users, so the depth of the answers depends on the model you work with.

## Who it is for
- **Reels, TikTok and Shorts creators**: see which topics and formats work for others in your niche right now, then shoot your own video on the same mechanics.
- **Social media managers and agencies**: keep niche monitoring, competitor breakdowns and shooting briefs for clients in one chat.
- **Producers**: understand why a particular creator is growing, which funnels they run and what repeats in their best videos.
- **Experts and businesses**: see what gets filmed in your field and what viewers ask in the comments, without hours of scrolling.

## Questions you can ask
Your assistant picks the right tool for each question. Paste these as they are:
- "What's taking off in my niche right now?"
- "Show me trends in the home renovation niche and group the videos by hook type."
- "Why is this creator growing? Show their latest videos with x to median." plus a profile link.
- "Break down this video: hook, script with timestamps, scenes, and what people say in the comments." plus a video link.
- "Does this video run a code-word funnel? What's the word?"
- "Write a brief for a similar video for my niche: my facts, my voice."

## Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| `trending_now` | Videos in a niche that are getting unusually many views compared with their creator's usual numbers |
| `niche_search` | Find a niche or sub-niche in the catalog |
| `set_my_niches`, `my_profile` | Save your niches and see the saved ones |
| `get_profile` | A creator by link or handle: their last 12 videos and x to median for each |
| `xray_video` | "X-ray" of any video by link: metrics, transcript, hook, scenes, frames, comments, code word, brief |
| `account`, `credit_history` | Credit balance and history |

### Niche trends: `trending_now`
The main tool. You name a niche in words, the server finds it in the catalog of niches and sub-niches and returns videos that are getting unusually many views compared with their creators' usual numbers. If the niche is already in the database, the answer comes right away. If it isn't, Piratex builds it in 5–10 minutes: it finds up to 50 creators, and the first finds show up within a couple of minutes. Trends cover Instagram and TikTok.

### Niches: `niche_search`, `set_my_niches`, `my_profile`
`niche_search` looks a niche up in the catalog, `set_my_niches` saves yours, `my_profile` shows what is saved. Once saved, you can simply ask "what's new in my niche?".

### Creator by link: `get_profile`
A link or handle of an Instagram or TikTok creator returns their last 12 videos and x to median for each. In one request you see which of their videos took off and which performed as usual. After a breakdown, an Instagram creator can be put on daily watch for up to 30 days, within your plan's limits.

### Video X-ray: `xray_video`
A breakdown of any video by link: Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, long YouTube videos, Instagram and TikTok posts and carousels. It returns metrics, a timestamped transcript, the hook (first 3 seconds), scenes, 8 key frames, the top 50 comments and a guess at the funnel's code word. The `adapt` part builds a "make one like this for me" brief: the video's mechanics carried over to your topic.

### Balance: `account` and `credit_history`
Your credit balance and history. Handy to ask "how many credits do I have left?" before a long series of breakdowns.

### Also on the site and in MCP
- creator tracking;
- creator dossier: a corpus of transcripts of their videos over 90 days;
- questions to a creator's corpus, for example "what do they give away for code words?";
- shooting queue;
- library.

## What data you get
- **x to median**: a video's views divided by the median views of the creator's last 12 videos. x = 1 means "as usual", x = 4 means "four times the usual".
- **Views per hour**: how fast the video is gaining. It separates a video that is taking off now from one that collected views over a month.
- **Comment rate**: comments divided by views. A high rate points to a debate, viewer questions or a funnel.
- **Late bloomers**: videos that came back to life 2–10 days after posting.
- **Hook**: what happens in the first 3 seconds, on screen and in speech.
- **Timestamped transcript**: the speech, which shows the script's structure.
- **Scenes and frames**: scene breakdown and 8 key frames.
- **Comments**: the top 50 comments, to understand how viewers reacted.
- **Code word**: a video is flagged when its caption asks viewers to comment a word, or when its comment rate is three times the creator's usual; the word itself is guessed from repeats.
- **`adapt` brief**: what to take from the video and how to carry it over to your topic.

Numbers come from scheduled measurements, not live counters.

## How to connect

### Claude: claude.ai, desktop and mobile apps
1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
2. Paste `https://piratex.ai/api/mcp` and add it.
3. Sign in to Piratex and press Allow.
4. Ask: "What's taking off in my niche right now?"

The connector then shows up everywhere: on claude.ai, in the desktop app and on your phone.

### ChatGPT
Set it up on chatgpt.com from a computer. On ChatGPT's free plan the option may be missing, and menu names can differ between versions.
1. Add your own MCP server in ChatGPT. If you don't see the option, go to Settings → Apps → Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode, then create a new one.
2. Name it Piratex, paste `https://piratex.ai/api/mcp`, choose OAuth for authentication and create it.
3. Sign in to Piratex and press Allow.
4. Ask: "What's taking off in my niche right now?"

### Claude Code
Run in your terminal:

```
claude mcp add --transport http piratex https://piratex.ai/api/mcp
```

Then sign in to Piratex in your browser and press Allow. If the sign-in window doesn't open by itself, type `/mcp` in Claude Code and pick piratex.

### Cursor and VS Code
Your Piratex dashboard has quick-install buttons for Cursor and VS Code: click one and the client adds the server itself. The quick-install link contains your key, so don't forward or publish it.

### Codex
Add the server to `~/.codex/config.toml` with a key from your dashboard. The Codex setup is still being verified.

### Other MCP clients
Any client that can connect to remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP can use the same address. If your client doesn't support OAuth, use an API key.

## Server address, sign-in and keys
- Server address: `https://piratex.ai/api/mcp`, Streamable HTTP transport.
- Main sign-in: OAuth. Nothing to copy: the client opens piratex.ai, you sign in and press Allow.
- Fallback: an API key from your dashboard (it starts with `px_`), sent as an `Authorization: Bearer` header.
- The same key works with the REST API at `/api/v1` if you want the data in your own scripts.

Connecting Claude Code with a key:

```
claude mcp add --transport http piratex https://piratex.ai/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer px_YOUR_KEY"
```

## Pricing
Piratex runs on credits. A plan gives you a monthly credit allowance that you can spend on any mix of actions. Payment is in rubles, by Russian bank cards only.

| Plan | Price per month | Credits per month | Trend requests | Full X-rays | Creator profiles |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 ₽ | 600 | 30 | 2 | 15 |
| Start | 2 000 ₽ | 5 000 | 250 | 16 | 125 |
| Pro | 5 000 ₽ | 15 000 | 750 | 50 | 375 |
| Ultra | 10 000 ₽ | 35 000 | 1 750 | 116 | 875 |

The last three columns are alternatives, not a total: you can spend the whole allowance on one kind of action or mix them.

| Action | Credits |
|---|---|
| Trends for a niche already in the database (`trending_now`) | 20 |
| A new niche that isn't in the database yet | 1 000 |
| X-ray: source (metrics, transcript, frames) | 150 |
| X-ray: comments | 150 |
| Full X-ray: source and comments | 300 |
| Creator profile (`get_profile`) | 40 |

- The free tier requires a verified account.
- A new verified account also gets 1 000 bonus credits for 30 days.
- On a verified free account, the first new niche is free.
- Paying yearly saves 25%: 9 monthly prices for a year, with credits issued month by month.
- Requesting the same data again within 24 hours costs nothing. A failed or empty request refunds its credits.

## Limits
- Niche trends and creator profiles cover Instagram and TikTok. YouTube Shorts and long YouTube videos are available through the X-ray by link; there is no separate Shorts trend radar.
- Numbers come from scheduled measurements, not live counters: it is too early to judge a video posted a couple of hours ago.
- A new niche takes 5–10 minutes to build, with first finds within a couple of minutes.
- Daily watch of an Instagram creator lasts up to 30 days; how many creators you can watch depends on your plan.
- Your AI writes the conclusions, so you need a client that supports MCP. ChatGPT's free plan may not offer the option to connect one.
- The Codex setup is still being verified.
- Public data only: private profiles are not available.

## Data and safety
- Piratex works only with public videos and profiles.
- Piratex never logs into other people's accounts and never asks for your social media passwords.
- With OAuth there is no key to copy. If you use a key, keep it like a password: it gives access to your account and credits.
- We don't recommend copying other people's videos word for word: take the structure, the hook and the mechanics, and keep your own facts and voice. The server passes the same rule to your assistant.
